1 HOUR PER WEEK. LIFETIME OF IMPACT.
Be A Mentor provides mentoring opportunities in elementary, middle, and high schools throughout the Lowcountry.
We currently serve 29 schools in 3 school districts (see map below).
Mentors must be at least 21 years old, successfully pass a background check and complete a mentor orientation training before eligible to volunteer in schools.
We strive to match all students in the greater Charleston area with a caring adult mentor.
Through program collaboration and community support, we will find the right mentoring match for you!
If you are interested in mentoring during the school year, please complete the form below.
We offer a mix of virtual and in-person trainings* to work with your schedules.
*All In Person trainings will be at our office, located at:

COVID-19 Update
Be A Mentor is committed to continuing its mission to empower the youth in our community through this unprecedented time in ways that are intentional and safe. The need for support grows during a crisis, it does not diminish, and Be A Mentor is here to meet those needs.
We are deploying both virtual and in person supports and we need YOU to light the path for our youth. Virtual mentoring works, and we will train you to help youth get to the other side of this crisis, not as lost, but as empowered.
Sign up today to make a difference during the COVID-19 crisis, below.
